“When I left school, I hoped to travel (combining with my passion to surf and snowboard) as much as possible. My career in finance has provided me with great opportunities to achieve this and opened my eyes to the greater world as a result of hearing people’s stories and backgrounds both from clients and colleagues alike. Having had experience in a multitude of finance institutions, I am drawn to smaller locally owned companies as you feel much more part of the company, with smaller companies being mindful as to the benefits of a work-home balance.”
Dave has worked in the finance industry for over 30 years, focusing on trust and corporate work. Having begun his career in a merchant bank, he moved to global trust companies and then on to independent, locally-owned companies.
During his career, he has held roles at varying levels up to senior management, including a secondment to Hong Kong to oversee the trust department during a business merger. He has been employed in a support role, honing his skills in the regulation and compliance aspects of trust administration and gaining experience working for a large multinational fund management company.
On joining Valla, he brought his considerable skills to client relationship work in the areas of property, high-net-worth individuals and complex structures.
